Hi and welcome to my blog! I'm a Melbourne girl living by the beach. I love to cook (it's my stress relief after a long day at work!), explore cool bars and restaurants in Melbourne, sew little crafty projects and tend to my veggie garden. Come on my journey as I create my veggie garden, cook my heart out and share recipes with you! Please feel free to contribute
eat, sew, love
Thank you to one of my Anonymous readers who posted a comment about the Maxi Kitchen Appliances ThermoFoodPro Super Chef. I did a bit of research this morning and it is exactly the same product as the Bellini Intelli KM.
I'm sorry for the absence of late, I kinda got a bit disinterested with the IM when it started to burn the bottom of the pan.
I have heard that the new IMs are out now in Target, so I emailed Bellini and they are sending me a replacement free of charge. They told me they are currently working through the list of people who have requested a replacement and will be sending them out in the next few weeks. (personally I hope they update the recipe book too, it's a bit so-so and boring!).
If you haven't done so, email them here: firstname.lastname@example.org :)
I promise to post an update when I get my new IM in a week or so.
In the meantime I'd love to hear your thoughts on the new machine, so make sure you comment below!
I've had a few people contact me (thank you for all your comments and feedback) to let me know that Bellini are offering a replacement KM to all customers direct through Target or directly with them.
I emailed Bellini earlier in the week and advised them of the burning base and as some of you have mentioned, they are working on fixing the issue and are offering replacements to all who have purchased when the upgraded version comes out. I gave them my name and address and they said they will ship a new one to me as soon as they receive them and they said I can keep my machine in the meantime until the new one arrives. I'm not exactly sure how long this is going to take - but when I find out I will update this post to let everyone know.....
I haven't posted for a few days, and most recently I have been making things on the stove or slow cooker (beef ragout and chicken and leek pie - yummmm will post recipe if anyone is interested?), I have however been using the KM to make a few dips, salsa, beetroot salad etc. So last night I thought I'd give Tacos a go in the KM.
I make this recipe all the time, it is a staple in my household. It is popular at BBQs, family gatherings, picnics, breakfast or dinner! Serve it hot or cold... personally I love it best the next day, slightly warmed in the microwave to take the chill off it (from being in the fridge).
I had some zucchini's to use up and decided i'd give it a try in the Intelli Kitchen Master and I'm happy to report it tasted just the same as how I would normally do it, but it cuts down the prep time by a 3rd!
Today i'm posting my favourite recipe to date! I had this made for me at a Thermomix demo and I absolutely can't get enough of this salad! If you have never eaten raw beetroot - I highly recommend you give this recipe a try.....so fresh, tangy and healthy. Give it a go... super easy!
I didn't really follow the TM recipe exactly (I didn't weigh anything) and you don't need to either. As long as you have all of the ingredients listed, you can add as much or a little as you like - depending on your taste. So here's what I did:
So here's my feedback on the Risotto from page 24 of the Bellini cookbook - and I have to say it went smoothly and tasted great (I tweaked it of course!). When I went to a Thermomix demo, they lady cooked risotto, and to me it was a bit bland a bit watery... so I hoped this recipe would be a bit better and I decided to use a little less stock and substitute some of the stock for white wine.
Good morning, who wishes they were still in bed? (I sure do!)
After quite a busy weekend I made some time on Saturday to try out the Risotto from page 24 of the cookbook. Whilst browsing on the Thermomix community website I came across a Tomato and Feta dip decided to give it a go!
I bet you are all excited to hear my reviews of the Intelli Kitchen Master?? Well when I got home last night and unpacked and washed it, Mr D and I decided to cook something easy... Mashed Potato followed by Strawberry and Chocolate Smoothy! So here's how it went....
PS. ... Don't forget to read Part 2 of this post which features the strawberry and chocolate smoothy!
So I received my Target catalogue in my inbox earlier this week and I was surprised to see what looked like a Thermomix knock off! Considering I'm in love with Thermomix and have always wanted one, but sadly can't afford it at this stage, I decided to look further into it....
Well it has been a big start to 2012 for me! After moving in to a new home (with a backyard!) we are finally settled and enjoying the responsibilities of having our own home to love and take care of. Apart from the mad rush that is the new year with summer celebrations, parties and get togethers, we are now just taking the time to complete all the little things we have set out to accomplish in 2012.
